1995 – Myrtle Beach, SC

• Mary arranges for us to stay in a condominium in a high-rise in south Myrtle Beach

• The Boston Schneider’s are unable to attend this year.   Mark figures if the older kids have one more party in the house while they are out of town there will be long talk with Social Services

• Weather is hot and steamy

• Daytrip to Georgetown, SC to visit antebellum sites

• Anna is pregnant with Maria

• Mom decides to try a boogie board, gets a particularly strong wave that knocks her off the board and rolls her a bit.  When she stands up, most of her bathing suit stays at about waist level

1989 – Hilton Head, SC

• The family heads closer to the equator.  Temperatures in Coastal South Carolina are close to those on the surface of the sun

• Mary’s friend Larry visits briefly – when is Mary going to bring the right guy to one of these events?

• Karen surprises Frank and Mark at the side of the pool.  Frank and Mark both head into the pool

• Family leap into the pool gives Northern Vacationers a bad name

• Sarah attends her first Family Vacation and celebrates her 1rst birthday.  She starts to cry every time she looks at Larry (I think it was the mustache)

• Fishing – nobody catches much of anything; people get sick

• Drinks at the Salty Dog Café

• As the week wears on, Father buys 3 dozen donuts one day in hopes of having one left by the morning.
